Seyed Pirouz Mousavi, managing director of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company (IOTC), told IOTCO on Saturday that after manufacture and installation of new slop tanks in three of the eastern loading and unloading wharves of Kharg Oil Terminal, the terminal was more environmentally-friendly.

Environmentally concerned, he stated that “they started the project some months ago prior to any problem and after working out the first schemes, finalizing engineering maps, and weighing up the technical issues, they launched making parts and finally assembled the new ones welding and erecting the corridors simultaneously to save time.”

Pointing to the last year record of loading 800 marine tankers in Iranian oil terminals, Mousavi reassured that the Kharg Oil Terminal has now the highest standards in docking, loading, and mooring the oil tanks.

Referring to the capacity of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company (IOTC) in providing service after the removal of sanctions, he boasted that currently all the terminals are geared up for serving over 1,000 marine tanks a year.
