The exploratory well, drilled in Iran’s Minoo Island has reached oil, Iranian Oil Minister, Bijan Namdar Zangeneh announced on Wednesday.
The Minoo Island’s oil well has reached crude oil in the depth of 3770 meters, Zangeneh said on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting.
According to the minister, it’s the first time that an exploratory well has reached oil in the region of Abadan, Khuzestan.
“The crude oil being extracted from the well is very light and sweet,” he added, “We continue drilling in the region to reach a full assessment about the volume of the oil reserve”.
